The State Trooper told me that Correctional Officers are "the scum of law enforcement" and should not be allowed to carry a weapon off duty, after retirement or anytime or place. He told me that his friends in the department felt the same way and he would be happy to never see me at another qualification event again. This was at my annual qualification for my federal concealed carry permit. A couple of years later, after the BLM riots, the same officer decided that we were all brothers in arms. I would have been happier if he just thought of me as scum. I went to qualify at another place, so I would not have to interact with that group of men again. Now I get to qualify with just the tester and I, it takes minutes not an hour and a half, it costs half as much. 

I don't get paid for the plug but I do mention the place I take my qualification test at.
