"So now that we really got into it cryptography is the practice of coding or hiding information so that only the intended recipient can read it, like computer passwords, bank cards, E commerce. Most of the time it's encrypted information and it has a block cipher and it uses a symmetric key basically in cryptography. So you have to decode it essentially. So in doing that, these women were assigned that duty. So by the end of the war, approximately 7,000 of the 10,500 SIS staff were female."
