In 2019 The CDC Wonder “National Vital Statistics System Data” reports men die 911.7 per population of 100,000 v.s. 829 women. The top 10 underlying causes of death of men are heart disease, cancer, accidents, lung diseases, strokes, diabetes, alzheimers, suicide, influenza, and liver disease. 11.5% of men abuse alcohol and drugs, 15.3% smoke cigarettes, and only 1 of 3 people utilizing therapy are men. 22.8% of 100,000 men die by suicide every year, the highest rate is amongst middle aged white men in rural areas. 1/4 women and 1/9 men experience intimate partner violence.
