ISTANBUL SPECIAL 2 - Ayşegül is a fantastic player of the Kanun, a Turkish harp-like instrument which is part of the zither family. In this episode, she will tell us about the characteristics and possibilities of the instrument, including the many levers which ensure microtonal playing for the Turkish maqams. Next to two live performances of works for the Kanun which were recorded during the podcast, a recording of her singing and playing the beautiful song 'Şu Yalta’dan Taş Yükledim' is included at the very end.
