Difference Between Evangelical Authority vs Catholic Authority - James White Q&A

Listen Later

How would you say the evangelical church defines authority different from what is the main authority for the roman catholic? James White answers
Sola Scriptura - scripture alone is the final authority because it alone is the preserved revealed word of God which is infallible.
Sola Ecclesia - church alone is the final authority receiving additional revelation to scripture about sacred tradition (unwritten words of Jesus) infallibly explaining the meaning of scripture, the application of scripture, the canon of scripture, and practices (each infallibly).
