Arthritis At Home (+ On the Go)

Differences in treatment outcomes for men and women with axial spondyloarthritis

Listen Later

In this episode of Arthritis At Home, Ellen Wang, Programs Coordinator at Arthritis Consumer Experts, speaks with Dr. Lihi Eder, Director of the Psoriatic Arthritis program at Women’s College Hospital and co-Director, Cardio-Rheumatology Program at the University of Toronto. Dr. Eder discusses her recent presentation at the EULAR 2024 conference. Her team conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to understand how axial spondyloarthritis (AxSpa) affects men and women differently in terms of how common it is and what symptoms they experience as well as how men and women with AxSpa respond differently to biologic treatments. Dr. Eder shares how the findings from the review can be used to inform clinical practice and follow up care, particularly for female patients, to support health outcomes.
