You don’t need to go days without food or water to connect with Him. Fasting can help clear the noise and distractions, but you shouldn't feel pressured or overwhelmed just to communicate with God.
Grab your drink, settle in, and let's talk about finding clarity, building spiritual discipline, and giving yourself grace along the way. 🤍
Have you ever tried fasting for clarity? Drop your thoughts below! 👇

Can you really talk to God without extreme fasting?
You don't need to go days without food or water to connect with Him. Fasting can help clear the noise and distractions, making it easier to reach out. But remember, you don't have to feel pressured to fast to communicate with God.
Have you ever tried fasting for clarity?

"He doesn’t wait for us to have it all together. Right in the middle of our mess, our questions, and our weariness, He meets us exactly where we are. Grace doesn't require perfection; it just requires an open heart. ✨
Have you felt His presence in an unexpected place lately?"

Silence from God is not always absence—sometimes it’s redirection. If you’ve been praying and hearing “nothing,” save this and tag someone who needs it. Silence can mean He’s working on something deeper than what you asked for. Waiting isn’t sitting still—it’s staying faithful while you keep showing up.
Sometimes the answer comes through people, community, or the thing you didn’t expect. Maybe you’re not being ignored—maybe you’re being guided. What’s hardest for you: waiting, trusting, or sitting in the quiet?

Sometimes God’s “no” is really a slow down. Tag someone who needs this reminder. I’ve started looking at the delays in my life differently. Not every stop is rejection.
Sometimes it’s protection.
Sometimes it’s a lesson.
Sometimes it’s God using somebody else’s mistake to save me from my own.
That’s why I try not to rush the moment anymore. If life keeps hitting the brakes, maybe there’s something you’re not supposed to miss yet. What’s one “no” that ended up being a blessing for you?

Drop a 🕊️ if you’ve ever looked back and realized the delay saved you.
And tag someone who needs the reminder. I keep thinking about how often we want the green light right now. But what feels like a setback can be the thing that keeps you from the wrong turn, the wrong timing, or the wrong lesson. Even a slowdown can be mercy.

We all have prayed for patience... until God actually starts teaching it. Drop a 🙏 if you’ve ever looked back and realized a closed door saved you. The hard part about closed doors:
They hurt in the moment.
They make no sense at the time.
Later, they can make perfect sense.
Genesis 50:20 says it best: what was intended for harm, God used for good.

We all pray for patience... until God actually starts teaching it. Comment “waiting room” if you’re in that season right now. Because the hardest part isn’t the waiting - it’s not rushing what you can’t force. That’s the tension we keep running into:
If you’ve ever felt stuck, tired, or low-key irritated by the timing of your life, this one is for you. Maybe the real growth is happening in the pause.

That job, that healing, that answer - it might be in the dark right now.
Drop a 🖤 if you’ve been trying to force clarity before the process is done. You have to trust what you can’t see yet sometimes the “no” is just protection in disguise. Still waiting. Still trusting. Still becoming.
What’s hardest for you right now - waiting, wondering, or letting go?

Two lives. Two perspectives. One destination.
Welcome to Different By Avenue, a podcast hosted by Dee and Bre—two friends, wives, and believers navigating the messy,…
We believe that no two journeys look the same. Whether you’re walking the high-speed highway of a thriving career, navigating the "mommy boot camp" of the foster system, or finding your way back to faith through a radical U-turn, your path is valid, and your purpose is intentional.
Why "Different By Avenue"? Because we’ve realized that while our backgrounds and daily "avenues" might look different—Dee bringing the technical, creative, and "Proverbs 31-ish" perspective, and Bre bringing the raw, foster-mom, "tell-it-like-it-is" fire—we are both headed toward the same goal: growing in grace, strengthening our marriages, and honoring the God who designed our maps.
What to expect every Wednesday:
Whether you’re in a season of waiting, a season of building, or a season of just trying to get the kids to sleep, there’s a seat for you here. We aren’t experts; we’re just your girls who have already made the mistakes and decided to talk about them.
New episodes drop every Wednesday. Join the Avenue:
Because your avenue may be different, but you are never walking it alone.
