Difficult Choices [The Right Thing pt. 4]
There are certain moments in our lives in which your convictions and morals are tested. Times where, not only does it feel confusing but the choice itself is difficult regardless of what you choose.
So many people face these difficult choices and feel like they are the only ones struggling with the emotions and fears that come with it. It can feel paralyzing as they wonder what is the right thing to do. It’s easy to fall into discouragement or depression because of how isolating the whole experience can be.
Today we are going to unpack those moments and look at examples in scripture so that we can be empowered to do the right thing even when it is exceedingly difficult.
1. Reality > Emotions [EMOTIONS CAN CLOUD YOUR JUDGMENT] (2 Samuel 18:5; 2 Samuel 18:33; 2 Samuel 19:5-7)
2. Faith > Fear [FEAR CAN CRIPPLE YOUR DECISION-MAKING ABILITY] (Genesis 22:1-2; Genesis 22:7-8; Genesis 22:11-14)
3. Sacrifice > Surrender [TO LIVE, YOU MUST DIE TO SELF] (1 Samuel 15:22; John 3:16-17; Matthew 26:38-39; Matthew 26:52-54)
