Asthma with Experts

Difficult -to-Treat and Severe Asthma

Listen Later

In this episode of 'Asthma with Experts', hosted by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), Professor Guy Brusselle, an adult pulmonologist in Belgium, shares his views and experience in a dialogue about diagnosis and treatment of difficult-to-treat and severe asthma in adolescents and adults. These patients can suffer from frequent symptoms and frightening, unpredictable attacks.

It is important to identify patients who may have severe asthma, and to differentiate them from those with difficult-to-treat asthma. They need to be referred to respiratory specialists promptly for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.

This podcast is targeted mainly for doctors working in primary care, but it will also be helpful for those in secondary care who are not asthma specialists.
