The Lord's Supper or communion is an adaptation of the Passover Feast that the Israelites had celebrated since their deliverance from slavery in Egypt.  We are encouraged to celebrate the Lord's Supper often as a way to 'proclaim the Lord's death (our salvation) until He comes.'
