Living in the digital age can be challenging for all of us. Trying to keep up with the ever-evolving pace of technology can be daunting for those of us who grew up as the first-generation digital pioneers. But in the process of trying to keep up, we have neglected to consider what it is like to grow up in this online environment. Our kids, these digital natives, have never known anything else. Have you thought about what it would be like trying to navigate this world and technology without any frame of reference of what life is like without it? It may not be as easy as we think, or as natural as we take for granted. And bridging that gap can be the most difficult of all.
Brent Basham sought to do just that with his podcast Digital Dads. He and co-host Andrew Currie used the podcast to explore topics all dads face and often struggle with. While simultaneously providing a platform for his kids to find their own voice and cover topics all dads can benefit from; the Digital Dads Podcast experiences some real success. But as the podcast ran its course, the digital dads struggled to keep up with the constant demand for booking new interviews. Keeping the show relevant with fresh talent became a constant challenge. This need for high caliber guests continues to be a common thread in the podcasting industry. Brent identified this need and joining forces with the right friends at the right time, Poddit was born.
