DIGITAL INDIA #082 : FACEBOOK LIVE AUDIO FEATURE WILL BE THE NEW TALK SHOW IN 2017?
In India people listen to radio differently, we asked some of our students at Web Marketing Academy, how they listen to the radio. They said while driving, listen to Bollywood music,, RJ, News, Entertainment if it is part of the radio show.
We remembered how in India we used to listen to Radio before the Television became main stream, we used to hang out in small tea shops, or a barber shop and we used to listen to cricket, news, music then came Doordarshan thats the India’s first Television.

We are excited about the Live audio being a podcaster, I have been using podcast for more than 10 years now thats where I update myself with latest news and happening,

With the launch of Facebook Audio we will see a lot of Music, Radio stations, Celebrities jumping into it first, then publishers and podcasters like us. In India it will have an impact, lot of them will be passive listeners, there is plenty of opportunities for new movers who want to use this space.
According to our Podcast data, we saw a hike in 2016 before it was mostly from US, Europe in the last six months, more downloads are happening from India, which clearly indicates that people are starting to listen to podcast, our students for example, use podcast to upgrade their knowledge.
We look forward for 2017 where audio will play a major role in terms of education, marketing, branding and social media.
