The current times that we live in can be described as some sort of toughest times for humanity to ever live in. The economy has taken a serious downturn due to feasible challenges that it had encountered and the Corona virus pandemic also rubbed salt to a wound struggling to heal.
Unemployment has been on a steady growth in the country, and the Covid pandemic has contributed greatly to the slight chances of many job seekers securing employment opportunities.
For the disability community the challenges can be twice as hard. Securing an employment is tough and has stricter requirements, which can at times not favour people living with disabilities.
One can only wonder how disabled people are coping with such a bizarre and unfavourable situation. To learn more about such an arguable injustice facing the disability community, we have invited Mr Matela Nkopane, a 36 years old paraplegic who has been wheelchair-bound from as early as when he was only 13 as a result of a terrible car accident.
