According to Disabled woman’s group “34% of women with a health problem or disability have experienced physical or sexual partner violence, compared with 19% of women who do not have a health problem or disability” (Disabled woman’s group, 2020, p.3). While these are very scary figures, the truth is that it is simply not spoken about. The question is why?...why is a conversation not happening or being listened to? Disabled women are part of one of the most vulnerable groups in the world. Having this conversation around disability and violence against women is so important to have and the information in this episode will show the reality of what it is like living with a disability as a woman today with regards to this topic.
