Everybody has different ingredients for what lights them up and feels good. We also have a lot of cultural programming about what's allowed.
10 years ago I didn't know how to ask for what I wanted for myself. I could do it for others, but not for myself, and it was due to my own lack of worthiness. But as I reach 50, I have finally reached a place where I have learned to ask for what I want.
We don't ask for what we want because we think it's not important. We think we're not important, and we are so afraid of vulnerability that we don't allow ourselves to have space for joy.
How many of us ask for things we want for those we love, but won't do the same for ourselves? My invitation for you is to consider where you aren't asking for what you want and where you aren't taking up space in your own life. Instead of not allowing yourself to expect much, commit to the best-case scenario and manage risk. Allow yourself to dream.
In this episode, I'm sharing my journey of figuring out how to celebrate my birthday, and why you are innately worthy exactly as you are. I'm showing you how to stop playing small, start taking up space in your own life, and start asking for what you want.
