The Prophet Samuel learned early in his life to identify the voice of God. His mentor Eli eventually instructed him in hearing and responding to God’s voice. Like Samuel, many struggle with knowing God’s voice and discerning where our thoughts and impressions are coming from: God, ourselves, or even the devil.
