Discerning your vocation can be confusing, challenging, and overwhelming. Learn from our mistakes on what to do and not to do to help you discern married life.
Christie and Carlos describe their story as far from perfect, but one that gives glory to what God can do through our brokenness. After dating 5 years and Carlos getting ready to propose, Christie decided to end their relationship. Fast forward 5 years later with 2 more break ups in between, Carlos and Christie are now a year and a half married and continuing to marvel at God’s plan and goodness.
Through their own experiences, they hope to share practical tips on discerning the vocation of marriage and choosing the person to enter into this sacrament with.
Christie and Carlos reside in Northern Virginia with their husky Bosco and a cat that Carlos found after they had prayed for a free pet. They have a little one in heaven named Philomena, and are awaiting the arrival of their baby boy this Spring… name pending.
Carlos has worked for the Diocese of Arlington for 4 years as a Youth Minister and Christie works in sales for a technology company, as well as marketing for a small Catholic business. They love a good game night, playing street hockey, and laughing at each other.
And they wish they had more hobbies to share, but the one time they tried to play tennis Carlos ran into a pole and had to get stitches.
