Main idea: disciples make disciples!

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” (v. 18)

 An allusion to Dan. 7:13-14. “Behold, with the clouds of heaven came one like a Son of

Man, and he came before the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him

was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages

should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom one that

shall not be destroyed.”

 Jesus’ power, not ours, determines our success in GROWING as his disciples and

MAKING other disciples.

What is a disciple?

 “Loving the Gospel” (HEART)

o “Go” (v. 19)

o “Now the Lord said [a]  to Abram, “Go from your country [b]  and your kindred and

your father's house to the land that I will show you.  2  And I will make of you a

great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a

blessing.  3  I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will

curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Gen. 12:1-3)

 “Living out the Gospel” (HANDS)

o “Baptizing” (v. 19)

o “…to OBEY all that I have commanded you” (v. 20)
