Previously performed to one person as I tested the Mixlr feed and tried all the tracks I was planning to play for Crumplstock 6 (hence a rather large preponderance of Dr Packer, Chewy Rubs, KC And The Sunshine Band and Rose Royce – but that’s no bad thing), I think these mixes deserve a wider audience rather than languishing on my Mixlr page.

The first part is a whole load of Dr Packer, a mix of dub and disco dubs, and is strangely a better mix than the actual mix for Crumplstock 6 – in fact I was planning a whole dub reggae section which never made it into the final mix. I should mix more dub and dub edits, it suits my style…previously scared of it, cos the slower you go, the more accurate you need to be – you can hide slips in a drum and bass set, but at 60-90bpm they are glaringly obvious.

This starts well but goes a bit random, less mixed and in series, but still all classic disco and funk, northern soul and rarities – and then there’s a total banger knees-up at the end.
