As we become more connected, we become more disconnected. It's very sad to see a family at a restaurant, and everyone is on their smart phones. I love the little gadgets as much or more than the other guy. But there is something to be said for putting down the device, looking each other in the eyes and re-connecting.
let's disconnect from the I pods, pull the plugs out of our ears, put down the smart phones and have some good old fashioned conversation. The kind that doesn't have to transmitted digitally through the cell company.
I think as we unplug from healthy human interaction. it's easier to withdraw. to desensitize....to not really care about the other guy sitting across the table. That other person could be your spouse, your son or daughter. And if you are a young parent, i'm here to tell you those young years fly by.......So put a pause on that I pad, leave it in the car, and plug in to your family. It might be the best re-boot you have done all week.
We need to start caring for each other in this country, we definitely not to start talking, tone down the heated rhetoric and enjoy some good old fashioned face to face, down home, good time talking. Disconnect to reconnect. This is USA Heartbeat, the pulse of freedom.
