Check out this lecture by St. Luke’s Pastor Jad Denmark on Matthew 4:23-25 – a continuation of last weeks’ scripture where Jesus calls his first disciples and begins his ministry. 

As you ponder this scripture throughout the week, put yourself in the place of one of those early disciples for a moment. What must have they felt in those moments, having just left everything to follow this Rabbi Jesus?  What must they have been thinking to see the crowds, miracles, and pronouncements of this radically new, just and powerful Kingdom of God.  What did they feel, think and what do you think was their response in those first few weeks with such a “success”.
