On today's episode I had the honor of speaking to the beautiful Darci Steiner. Darci has served in the ministry as a teen and women’s ministry leader, as well as assisted with church plants in Denver and Los Angeles. In 2001, Darci nearly lost her life after a debilitating fall. During her recovery, she earned her Master of Science degree in Holistic Nutrition and implemented natural remedies into her diet that helped save her life. When Darci became disabled a second time after a foot injury in 2018, she turned her focus toward ministry again by writing her debut book, Beauty Beyond the Thorns: Discovering Gifts in Suffering and its companion, Study Guide for Beauty Beyond the Thorns: Discovering Gifts in Suffering.
It was during this time of her injury that she began reading about holistic remedies and good food. She started walking in therapy pools and then on land, After 6 years she earned her Masters Degree in Holistic Nutrition and opened a private practice nutrition counseling business. She had no pain. During her second injury is where she wrote her book. It is faith based, but non believers benefit as well. Darci is truly an inspiration.
Darci was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and in those 6 years she was in horrific pain and couldn't even tolerate a sheet to touch her body. Her and her husband, Mark, both share the spiritual challenges of understanding GOD over what seems like setbacks and loss and to understand how GOD has been there in their broken times.
Her story inspires and empowers me as well as anyone listening that you CAN heal, you CAN move forward. She has Discovered her Gift in Suffering.
I love that Darci has found beauty and sacred places in Suffering where God helped her through,
