Many Scots of a certain age complain of how little of our own history we were taught in school.
In this episode we discover the Battle of Loudoun Hill, which took place in 1307 and was decisively won by Robert the Bruce. What is particularly interesting about this battle is Bruce's use of the landscape as part of his battle strategy, a tactic which also proved decisive in the later Battle of Bannockburn. Was Loudoun Hill a practice run? And how come William Wallace's name appears on the map of the battleground when he had been killed two years before?
Find out all about it with the help of our guests, Random Scottish History's Jenny Eeles and our roving reporters Neil Haston and Lynne Dougan who attended the anniversary celebrations at Loudoun Hill last month.
