Beckerman looks at how the tools of communication are used to help create change and foster a space where people can engage with one another, imagine, debate, and begin to think up new ideas.

I grew up always with that sort of sense of there is something fungible about the way society and politics works and that there are forces that can shift things very quickly, or even slowly, but in dramatic ways. And so, that's been a real curiosity of mine.
