Dr. Tim Jacobs the Commander of the Quincy Civil War Roundtable discusses the curious and amazing story of the sword in the wall detailing the tale of the Ruddell family.  The talk included the history of CPT William Ruddell and his service with the Union Army and the Battle of Atlanta.  The Ruddell family history traces back to Stephen Ruddell and his life with the Shawnee after being captured during the American Revolution.  Stephen became brothers with Tecumseh and the Prophet.  The Battle of Tippecanoe is discussed and the separation of the Shawnee brothers.  Dr. Jacobs also discusses Civil War generals Grant, Sherman and Jackson.
