I am joined by Chetina this week. We were closing out mental health awareness month and I thought It appropriate to talk about access of care. She's truly a gem and I hope you enjoy as much as I did chatting :) We get into it! Mental Health Awareness, barriers to accessing therapy, her specialized consultation services and importance of utilizing my services, redefining what caring for mental health looks like.
More about the amazing Chetina:
Chetina Hunter (she/her), creator of Always Live Lovely, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Consultant, and Speaker/Facilitator who educates others about mental health, through breaking the stigma, equipping them with practical tools, and information for a deeper understanding leading to healing. Chetina Hunter has a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development, Minor in American Sign Language, Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, and a Certificate in Traumatology and Treatment.
Chetina believes that if you are informed, you have already won half the battle, but it’s what you do with that information that matters most, which is why she started offering mental health consultations. Chetina strives to reach as many individuals as she can by being her authentic self, showing that therapists are just like you, and therapy can be an amazing experience. Chetina knows the importance of informing the community about the skills and tools that are simple, inexpensive, and effective. Chetina also recognizes how difficult it can be to take care of your mental health when you are not in a positive mental space, struggling to have hope, and lack community. Chetina believes building a positive mindset, gaining understanding, self-awareness, connection, and lifestyle tools can help you to succeed.
