The Sleepy Lagoon murder was the precursor to the Zoot Suit Riots that began on June 3rd, 1943, and lasted 5-days. Learn what lead up to these events that changed the lives of Mexican American youth living in Los Angeles. In addition, we share how we came about deciding to share this history while researching film locations for the American Me film (1992).
