Exiles don't fully belong to the place where they live. Its is a condition common to many in Los Angeles. Whatever the reason we migrate to LA, it can often come with a side effect of feeling rootless and the pain of living far from home. Increasingly, the norms of secular culture are dethroning Christian ethics in a way that feels threatening to many who were raised in the Church. How do God's people respond when they find themselves in the midst of such disorientation?
Our series, Dislocated: How to Live in Exile, will look at the exilic literature of the Old Testament, with special emphasis on stories in Daniel and Esther, to find a hopeful vision and compelling model of life in exile that we can apply today.
