Is it possible for those of us who attend church regularly to become so familiar

with the cross that we are no longer moved by it?

Maybe you grew up in the church and you sang “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”,

or the "old rugged cross" so many times that you can sing it now,

without even paying attention to the words.

as we enter into this season of lent we try to experience the Easter story fresh,

perhaps to really hear it and experience it as if it were the very first time.
