As parents, giving advice to children can be a challenge.
Often the advice parents give comes across as nagging, controlling, belittling or over-bearing
There is truth that experience is often the best teacher. Sometimes impossible to learn certain things in life without experiencing them.
So just how do you help give your kids the tools to deal with a problem....without you trying to solve the problem for them.
Giving advice is hard as is biting your tongue, but it is ultimately the best for our kids.
Try talking about ourselves, answering a question with a question and using respectful phrases.
Hopefully this will help your child make good decisions without you (and not burn down any schools....listen to hear that story).
