The Srimad Bhagavatam – 6th Canto narrates the story of Hiranyakashipu, a powerful demon king who becomes arrogant and demands to be worshipped as God, and his son Prahlada, who remains deeply devoted to Vishnu despite severe persecution. Hiranyakashipu repeatedly tries to kill Prahlada, but the child’s unwavering devotion protects him from all harm. In response, Vishnu manifests as Narasimha and destroys Hiranyakashipu, upholding dharma. The canto ultimately teaches that pure devotion is stronger than ego, power, and fear, and that divine protection is assured for true devotees.
