Last spring, the University of Michigan’s application rate hit a record low at 17%. At the same time, the yield rate reached a record high of 50%. As admissions processes become more competitive, student organizations and internship selection processes are following suit. Next, we talk to Kentaro Toyoma, School of Information professor, about the intersection of technology and application processes, as well as Pete Vendermeer, a program coordinator for the Public Service Intern Program, who offered insight into how the University Career Center helps students find internships.
