Day 5 - Bhai Dooj 

This day is a celebration of the lovely relation of a brother and sister. There are various stories associated with it.

• The Story of Krishna and Subhadra
• The Story of Bali and Lakhmiji
• The Story of Mahavirji, King Nandivardhan and Sudarshana
• The story of Yama and Yamuna. Yama is the brother and Yamuna is the sister and how they meet on this day. 

There are many folk stories of how a sister protects and saves here brother on this day as well.

Points to Ponder:

It can be Interpreted in a very lovely manner - the nurturing of brother and sister can be taken as universal love and brotherhood also.

This shows that when one sees the light within, he/she is able to see the same light in all the living things. 

This strengthens the spirit of love and brotherhood. The entire world becomes a Kutumbh.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - The entire world is one family.

As in all of us shines only that One Divine. 

A line of diyas, different shapes different forms and different colours - but that jyot that fire is the same.
