Can you believe the stores are already featuring Back to School sales and specials!? Wait, wait, summer isn’t even over yet!
Summer is filled with leisurely or easier mornings, fun activities during the days, and restful sleep after a long and wonderful day. Who wants that to end!?
Although we might resist September’s focus on back-to-school and the return of a rigid daily schedule, there are so many things we can do to ease the transition…for both children and parents/caregivers alike!
The Power of Aroma
Diffuse your essential oils to quickly change the mood of ALL who breathe in the aroma! How does this happen?
When we inhale an essential oil, the molecules reach the epithelium patch where the molecules attach to receptors.
They’re converted to nerves that send the odor information to the olfactory bulb in the brain.
This bulb communicates directly with the amygdala, hippocampus, and other brain structures.
Harness this power of essential oils aromatically with a diffuser. Here are some great choices for your diffuser this September:
· Diffuse Peppermint to increase concentration and focus with the ever uplifting Wild Orange to help kids stay on track!*
· Diffuse Frankincense and/or Cedarwood when anxiousness hits and let the entire family benefit from its grounding aroma.*
· Diffuse the onGuard blend to clean and purify the air.* This blend offers targeted, immune-supporting benefits backed by science!
· Litsea is also an immune system hero that cleans the air and can also help with skin blemishes when applied topically.
Kids Room Diffuser Blends
· 3 drops of Wild Orange and 2 drops of Vanilla essential oils will create a sweet and happy environment for your child.
· 3 drops of Spearmint, 2 drops of Bergamot, and one drop of Vanilla essential oils will invigorate and inspire confidence.
Smells Like Food Blends
· Root Beer – Combine 4 drops of Wintergreen with 3 drops of Citrus Bliss blend.
· Fruit Loops – Combine 3 drops of Lemongrass, 3 drops of Green Mandarin, and 1 drop of Tangerine essential oils.
· Cinnamon Rolls – Combine 2 drops each of Cinnamon, Cassia, and Cardamom essential oils.
Brain Oils
· Bergamot, Lavender, and Lemon essential oils help to support healthy levels of dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure, motivation, and reward.*
· Adaptiv blend, Basil, and Magnolia essential oils help to modulate cortisol, one of our stress hormones.*
· Oils that help support healthy levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter link to mood regulation, sleep, and digestion, include Wild Orange, Clary Sage, and Neroli.*
DIY Solutions
· Ear Discomfort – Combine one drop of Basil, Lavender, and Tea Tree essential oil and massage into ear lobe and behind the ear every 3-4 hours for children and every 2 hours for adults.*
· Head Tension – 1-2 drops of Frankincense pressed to the roof of your mouth and/or apply PastTense blend to the temples, back of the neck and base of the skull.*
· Scratchy Throat Relief – Combine one drop of Ginger, two drops of Copaiba, and 3 drops of Lemon essential oils with a teaspoon of your favorite local honey.*
Let this September be the year of an easy transition and a joy-filled back to school experience.
