This week I interview Chris Donnelly from Mindshare, he is currently seven years into his journey and is a Digital Director. I really enjoyed the way he talked about being curious, be willing and open minded and most definitely take apprenticeships seriously as a way to enter the advertising business.

I talk with my youngest guest so far, Olivia Girling who was just 16 when she decided to leave school and join Digital Storm as an apprentice. Olivia showed a very clear mindset on what she wanted and showed what you can achieve when you are determined.

Today I spoke with Alex Ayres who currently works at Snap. He worked his way into his current role through a number of other companies and although started in sales, it was not advertising focused. Through determination and taking the initiative he worked his way into a great role. I think for me, the biggest takeaway was you get out what you put in, whether that is in the job search or the job itself.

A fascinating talk and so pleased he was able to not just talk on the School vs work topic but also his thoughts on the death of George Floyd, French similarities and what he is personally doing.
