Our students only measure of "success" is a grade or, even worse, disappointment in others. This results in the adults employers complain about:

-lacking initiative

-requires 'hand-holding'

-needs constant praise/reinforcement

Education needs to allow students to develop their own determination of a 'job well done'. To do this you need to let them go, fail, help them reflect and then try again. No grade measures THAT kind of learning...ya know, the real kind.
