Kent Chevalier is an NFL Chaplain, #1 bestselling author, and keynote speaker known for his Do It Afraid™️ message—helping people move forward in faith despite fear. A Pittsburgh native, Kent’s early years were marked by both athletic involvement and personal struggles that ultimately redirected him toward a deeper relationship with Christ. After a life-changing encounter with God before college, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Student Ministry from Geneva College and later a Master’s in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He and his wife, Erica, spent a decade in full-time youth ministry before he transitioned into pastoral leadership.
In 2019, through a discipleship relationship with Vance McDonald, Kent was introduced to Mike Tomlin, who invited him to serve as Chaplain of the Pittsburgh Steelers through Athletes in Action, the sports ministry of Cru. Accepting the role required him and Erica to raise 100% of their financial support—a bold leap of faith that now defines his message. For more than 25 years, Kent has spoken in locker rooms, churches, and conferences, equipping leaders to confront fear, trust God, and step into their purpose.
