Matthew 16 1-28
In this chapter, Jesus warns his disciples about the Sadducees and Pharisees, who were only able to see or understand the physical aspects. He reminds them of his power by describing how he provided food for the five thousand and then the four thousand. He asked his disciples what people thought of him. He also tells them about his coming death and resurrection on the third day. Jesus encourages them to deny themselves and follow him, and questions the value of gaining wealth on earth while losing one's soul. He also gives a hint about his transfiguration.
