We are not necessarily to expect a quiet life, simply because we are a Christian. We need to have that quality of endurance, the endurance such as the Lord Jesus Christ possessed. Did not He persevere through times of great hostility-. Such difficult circumstances may also be our lot, too. He endured to the end. So must we. We may suffer times of weariness and discouragement. The lesson is to keep your eyes upon Jesus.----We may suffer times of divine disturbances, by going through periods of God's chastisement. As an earthly father to a son or daughter, our heavenly father could discipline us. We may not have the 'quiet life' we had hoped for, but if hardship and difficulties come our way, do not make the mistake of thinking you could not possibly be a child of God. Look to Jesus and pray that you may become more like Him. Remember that God cares for His own, and be patient and prayerful, believing that our present pain is going to lead to future gain.
