Think about that. The standard you apply to other people is the standard God will apply to you. Harsh? Expect harshness. Stingy? Expect stinginess. Keep detailed records of every wrong done to you? Expect your own wrongs catalogued with equal precision.
Daniel understood. He confessed sins that were not technically his own. Included himself in national guilt. Did not stand apart pointing fingers.
Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over. That is what God wants to give you. But you have to use a generous measure first.
