Chris Stuart - Tyndale’s Plowboy

Do Not Judge = Luke 6:47-42

Listen Later

The central message of this sermon is that true moral growth and character development come from recognizing our own need for forgiveness and mercy, rather than trying to judge or condemn others. Jesus' teachings on "do not judge" are often misinterpreted as a call to abandon all moral standards, but in reality, they are a reminder that we are all flawed and in need of God's grace. By acknowledging our own imperfections and vulnerabilities, we can begin to plant the seeds of forgiveness, mercy, and generosity in our lives, which will ultimately multiply and return to us in abundance. This idea is illustrated through the parable of the blind leading the blind, where Jesus shows that only those who are fully trained and perfected (i.e., God) should be trying to guide others. The sermon suggests that we must invest time and effort into understanding and applying these teachings, rather than superficially quoting them or trying to live by a watered-down version of moral standards. Ultimately, the message is one of hope and redemption, encouraging listeners to recognize their own need for mercy and forgiveness, and to cultivate those qualities in themselves in order to receive them back in abundance.
