Let’s begin the year by talking about one of the most important yet most overlooked aspects of our health - ‘Sleep’.
Sleep is one of the most essential aspects of our daily life. It’s simple to understand as we all agree that we need sleep, it’s complicated as we disagree on how much we need.
It’s complicated as sacrificing on sleep to achieve our goals is even celebrated.
It’s complicated as we don’t understand the REAL IMPACT of a night’s sleep loss.
Most of us don’t even understand the impact of Chronic sleep loss, which is proven by well documented studies.
To tell you a few - Chronic sleep-loss is associated with increased likelihood of Dementia, heart disease, type-2 diabetes, obesity, and even cancers of Prostate, Breast, ovaries and Colon.
Some of the detrimental effects of lack of sleep can be felt, experienced by almost everyone - it can affect our ability to perform the simple daily tasks of working or driving.
So, if you’re let’s say struggling to lose weight, (which I’ve experienced), the cause could well be related to lack of sleep.
No supplements will work, if you’re not sleeping enough. Exercise will have detrimental effects if you’re not sleeping enough.
Sleep is the bedrock upon your entire life is built.
