From film scenes featuring nudity, to Qur'an readings and dancing to Vengaboys in the nave - cathedrals across the country have long been commercialised for activities that directly contradict the word of God.
Whether the tipping point was a silent disco held in the historic Canterbury Cathedral, or the dozen more cathedrals planning to host them, there has been national outrage and a new petition calling on the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby to intervene to “make the Cathedral a house of prayer once more”.
