As soon as there is no one to impress, you're left to decide for yourself what's right and how hard to work.  That's REALLY hard for our kids today.  

We need to help them with that.  I think we need to find a way to model this behavior, perhaps through mentorship, and then we must give them the freedom to make mistakes and learn.

Our children deserve a system that teaches them value-adding, real-world skills that increase their chances of being successful when they leave it.
