Tricia was encourgaed by the congregation to not have friends that were outside of the organization. She tells a story of needing permission from the church before taking a trip or interacting with non-members of this church. These teachings are similar to those of the 1990s. Tricia now describes how she began to leave the organization. The leaders in her church seemed to recite from the same playbook of yesteryear. Trica discusses seeing a therapist on campus and how that helped her to find resolve as she is processing this whole experience. Tricia introduces and discusses the concept of trauma bonding. Going to therapy helped her to start her relationship with God all over again. Tricia began her process of healing and did the work to help herself along this journey. Tricia claims that this organization is a cult and explains so in her own words. She also tells us about how she has began to pick up the pieces to her life and is moving on from this experience.
