We say we want people to come together, accept each other and love each other, but what we mean is that we want people to come together and support our world view. And if they don't support our world view, then we call them names, demonize them, and assassinate their character in an attempt to "enlighten" them to our cause. Calling people racists is getting a lot of traction now. But here's the thing: Calling people racists who aren't racists doesn't help your cause, it just gets them angry. And calling people racists who are racists is a huge waste of time because they don't give a crap what you think. So, all in all, if you want there ever to be a meeting of any minds and hearts, we really need to stop the name-calling and debate the issues in a truthful, compassionate and calm way.
