everyone, everyone makes dumb financial decisions, literally everyone, however the outcome of these decisions is heavily influenced by factors such as race & socioeconomic class, the state of your mental health, whether or not you’re a student, whether you have immigrant parents, your risk threshold (aka how much risk you are willing to take on, which isn't always a good thing) these all play a role in the outcome. This is why I think it’s so important to just do what feels good to you, because when you tell yourself what you should be doing, you start doings things that weren’t meant for you in the first place, and you compete with people who you never should have tried to compete with in the first place (I only condone healthy competition of course). A lot of the time, we are fed information about what’s rational or logical. We are literally always relying on outside sources such as the internet or books to tell us what the right thing to do is. The problem is, these people who you are learning from, they are not you, they do not know your story. I am not trying to negate the power of learning, what I’m trying to do is emphasize the power of you.
