Mary: So today we're gonna talk about different types of learning. And I thought we would start the conversation off by just talking about if you think or if you believe that you can learn anything. What do you think?
Seth: Uh, yes, I think I can learn anything because I have a brain and, hum, there hasn't been anything that I can't learn if I put enough time and effort in.
Mary: Do you think that people, though, like, are more gifted at learning things than others?
Seth: I don't know, learn gifted is the right word. I would say that everyone has different learning styles. And so it depends on if you understand, you're learning style and you use it toe learn. I think you can use your learning abilities to learning.
Mary: Yeah, but I kind of feel like just even talking about this. I start to feel all like, sweaty and nervous about thinking of being a doctor, for example. Like, I know that I wouldn't even enjoy the chemistry classes, the anatomy classes, the biology classes, like that stuff seems really challenging for me, and I don't even enjoy it. And so then I think, Why would I even want to learn that. And then could I really, like, be disciplined enough to stay in a class to learn that or stay with it long enough to actually learn it.
Seth: Yeah, maybe that's one of the biggest issues in learning that you brought up is the desire. Do you want to learn whatever it is that you are learning. But I do believe you can learn anything, makes me feel like, Oh, if it's it's something that I want to learn but I think desire is big.
Mary: Yeah, yeah, I would agree. I think it's really lucky that this world includes people with so many different interests so that we can have the artists. We can have the scientists. We can have social workers. We can have the construction workers. We can have the people to teach our children. We can have people to deliver our mail, to help us with our groceries or be the farmers. It's really lucky that we have such a unique and different interests because those are the things that I guess maybe even help us to excel in our learning because we take the interest and when it's deep and we have a passion for it we can go even that much further and what we can learn and know and eventually do.
Seth: I agree.
