A Victim Mentality is characterized by the inability to feel responsible for their own life and the subsequent lack of self confidence. People with this psychological problem are usually the ones who refuse to take responsibility for their own actions, usually because they feel as if they are being manipulated. When someone is in a victim mentality it is most likely that he or she will be reluctant to take the blame for their actions, so they will try to look like victims. Victims will often justify their behavior and their thinking patterns by pointing out that there are many others who behave in the same way.
