The Thessalonian church was worried that they were in the Great Tribulation period and had been left behind. Paul corrects the false teaching and says when it actually happens, those left behind will not have a love for the truth and were unsaved. The Bible says that you cannot be a Christian without also having a love for the truth of God's Word.
